“Find Hope in Jesus / Salvation: A New Life Begins”
Salvation is God’s gracious act of delivering humanity from sin and eternal separation by redeeming us through Jesus Christ. It restores our relationship with God, giving forgiveness, new life now, and the promise of eternal life forever.
What is salvation?
Salvation is the loving work of God to rescue us from sin and restore us to a right relationship with Him. Because of His great love and grace, God sent Jesus Christ to die for our sins and rise again so we could have new life. Salvation is not something we earn; it is a gift we receive by faith in what Jesus has done. Through salvation, we are forgiven, made new, and invited into a personal, eternal relationship with God.
Key Scriptures John 3:16 — “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Why Do We Need Salvation?
We need salvation because something in the human heart is broken, and no amount of effort, success, or self-improvement can fully fix it. The Bible calls this brokenness sin—not just bad actions, but a separation from God that affects how we think, love, and live. This separation shows up in everyday ways: guilt we can’t shake, shame we try to hide, constant striving to feel “enough,” fear about the future, an emptiness success can’t fill, and relationships that keep breaking despite our best intentions. Salvation is God’s loving response to this condition—He doesn’t condemn us for being broken; He comes to restore what was lost and reconnect us to Him.
What Has God Done?
God didn’t ignore our brokenness—He stepped into it. He sent Jesus to live among us, showing us what God’s love looks like in real life. On the cross, Jesus took our sin, guilt, and separation upon Himself, paying a debt we could not pay. Then He rose from the grave, proving that sin and death do not have the final word. Because of what Jesus has done, forgiveness is available, new life is possible, and a restored relationship with God is open to all who believe.
How Do I Respond to God’s Gift of Salvation?
Recognize – Acknowledge that you need God. Admit that sin, brokenness, and separation are real, and that you cannot save yourself (see Romans 3:23). Believe – Trust that Jesus is Lord and Savior, and that His death and resurrection are enough to save you. Salvation begins with faith, not works (see Acts 16:31). Turn (Repent) – Make a conscious decision to turn away from sin and turn toward God. Repentance is a change of heart and direction, not perfection (see Acts 3:19). Receive – Receive Jesus Christ by faith, welcoming Him as Lord of your life. When you do, God forgives you, makes you new, and begins a real relationship with you (see John 1:12).
